SEO stands for search engine optimization => it is the process to get your website listed in organic search engine result (organic means...search engines will not charge from you to list your website in search result..its free listing). It is step by step process to optimize your website to get in organic result.

PPC => pay per click. Is the process to get your website listed under sponsored result. You can get listed your website withing small time but you will have to pay per click to specific search engines.
