What is the response time for a medical alert system?

My parents currently have a medical alert system installed in their home. Luckily they have never had to use it for any reason. If they did have to use it in an emergency, what is the average response time for the operator to dispatch help?

The only other medical alarm systems we found were uncontrolled. In these cases, a user buys the device, the base station / speaker help and leaning towards the button, but the system was not followed. In an emergency call, the user presses the help button and the equipment will automatically call the numbers that the user is pre-programmed into....
