Which is best way to place keywords in meta tag ?

Which is best way, as stated below, to place keywords in meta tag and why?

1. Keyword should be single word, like car, computer, Internet, finance, insurance, etc

or

2. Keyword should be phrase, like car insurance, computer tips, internet guidelines, finance updates, etc

Second option is correct. Because keyword is the words we type in google and find out the answer. There we wont type a single word and search. We use combination of words only. So, second one is best suited for the category.

Both are correct, you can use then this way: car, auto car, auto, you can go on and on. etc. Cheers

You can use both in your meta keyword tag.However the meta description should be based on your second option.
