Lets see what people have to say on this one.

What do you think who is the best domain registrar?

In my opinion I think GoDaddy is a nice registrar.

There are lots of registrar on internet but I think GoDaddy is the best registrar.
Because Godaddy is the cheapest and also provide a good range of features. And the most thing is, it provide domains security.

I would also Vote for GoDaddy along with ENOM

I have some domains at GoDaddy and some others at ENOM.

Both are best in business. Have also tried yahoo domain registrations but I am still waiting to see the results before making any statements on it.

I don't know which one is the best registrar on the internet. But everybody say GoGaddy.com is the best and it's customer support is very good.
But I registered my domains in ENOM because I don't know first anything about registrar.

It will show my age, but I started with Network Solutions and paid $70 for my first domain (2 year registration, 1999). After a couple of years I got sick of NSI's attitude and expensive prices. I was very happy to find DirectNIC.com where I could renew for $15 a year. :-)

DirectNic was very good for a long time, and had an affiliate program, but after some more years I started seening domains being sold for as low as $6 with the average price being $8-10.

So I looked around and found Domainsite.com who seemed ok and where you can register a domain for $6.99. Well, it turns out that is only the first year price. It then goes up to 7.99 which is not bad, but I didn't like it that they didn't make that increase clear. Then they DISABLED a domain that I had bought because of a spam report (No, I didn't, but someone was spamming for a domain that was not registered so I bought it.

I thought that was a pretty good joke on the spammers!!! Well, it was also a joke on me to. But the spam that was reported happened before I owned the domain, so they had to give me "another chance". So I was not so happy with them. Oh, their system works ok, but the user interface is not well designed in my opinion.

So I started looking again, trying to find a reseller account as well. I signed up for Godaddys (you have to pay) and canceled it the next day. I have a few domains at Got-addys, but I H-A-T-E their constant pushing of ads all the time. I also don't think much of their hosting (their stats are not good) and their user interface really bothers me, and if I'm logged in, WHY? do I have to enter a CAPCHA??? Sorry, they do many things well but some really bother me.

So I discovered NameCheap.com and have settled in their very nicely. I can pay via CC or PayPal (Domainsite takes PayPal also) and I like that they have a domain marketplace, such as it is, there too. The price is average at 8.88 for a domain, but I just like using their site.

$70 for a domain name :(

Yes it does shows your age. :)

When I first registered I went with a package of hosting plus a domain name from some hosting provider back in 2003. It shows how n00b I was.

Then I didn't had the money to pay for the hosting for the next month. I had the Credit card but didn't had $15 to pay for the hosting every month the bills from the domain registration and the first month's hosting were still debt on me.

So had to cancel that plans and sat out side my house with some friends of mine for the next 12 months. Nothing to do. Just pure ideas, No Money, No support, No one knew about anything in the city that I lived in. When I would say that one day I will earn from internet people used to laugh at me and thought I am day dreaming and making up the stories as I am a lazy person and don't wanna do the job which were offered to me.

17 to 18 months later in late 2004 I was offered a small work from one local doctor who used to practice in our town. It might feel bad but yeah. I told him that the domain registration prices were $18 instead of $9 ;)

Grabbing a neat $9 to get my first domain name after the initial loss from the last year. :D LOL I am laughing right now but yeah this were the situations.

Now I didn't had a hosting but had a domain name which was mine for one year. This also registered at some useless hosting guy. Who didn't knew much more then I knew myself at that time.

8 months later I was surfing the web and found a lifetime hosting competition. I decided that I wanted to win this lucky draw for this competition and get my lifetime hosting. :) I had a trick or two up the sleeve and I won it.

When my domain was just about to expire I got my first $10 of my life from that website of mine.

Which till today has given me more then 20K's in earnings.

And still it is registered at that reseller of Onlinenic. But now I am not moving it as I think I am also a bit superstitious.

That's some story, Nameslot.

First domain I registered was back in 1995 if my memory still serves me ;)
Network Solution was expensive, but, hey, they actually send paper showing you are the registered domain owner for that domain :D

My favorite is Moniker because they never lost a domain and their price is ok with me at $6.95 and $1 privacy if you need it.

Worst registrar is Registerfly. I had 6 or 7 domains which I bought and had real tough time transfer it out. I still have one domain left which just wouldn't get transferred :(

Enom is second worst for me because they have $20+ renewal fees :(
Yes, I know I can use reseller acct, but, why? I rather transfer them out to moniker.

I used to favor Godaddy, but, now, I transfer about 20 domains per week to Moniker. I still have few hundreds left at godaddy.

Based on your experiences I think I will also have to try out Moniker one of this days.

The pricing seems perfect and as you mentioned there's no problem in putting out domains at moniker, I will give it a try with 5 domains and check it out.

Thanks a lot for your input and review on some more registrars. Let see what others have to say about their experiences with other registrars.

I'm really satisfied with Godaddy.com's services with a lot of additional freebies. With regards to price, its also cheap as you can get discounts from them using coupons:)

Ok. How about 1and1???? How are they? I just registered 3 new .com domain names from them only because I want to save. Hope I made the right decision.
